ABOUT D70
Dimension 70 is located in Lower Manhattan, where the LES meets Chinatown. While it’s only a few blocks from multiple major subway stops, you’ll feel instantly transported from the outside world the moment you step inside. The custom-built space was created by the renowned studio designer Francis Manzella, and every architectural decision was made with artists in mind.
The other-worldly energy of the studio is deeply rooted in the building’s foundation. In the early 1900s, it was a synagogue—during the studio construction, prayer book pages were found wedged between the bricks. The building was also home to a whisky still during the prohibition, once again making it a destination for transcending the limitations imposed by reality.
Today, Dimension 70 breathes new life into the building’s history to create yet another communal space for escape and creation. Privacy, discretion, hospitality, and respect are the pillars the studio was built on. The team’s mission is to offer artists an atmosphere that takes them to a different dimension—one where they can simply focus on creating, and let the rest fade away.
